Update From Coach Radunz
Week 3 is now over and the school year will now begin. I hope everyone had a great summer and has a wonderful Labor Day weekend. Great job by all runners at both practice and in our scrimmage on Tuesday and in our race last Friday. Tyler Thomas placed 5th in the boys JV race earning him a medal, and Emma Raab placed 11th in the girls JV race, just missing a medal! I also want to thank all the parents for coming to our team get together picnic last Thursday and to thank Karen Myers for setting that up. It was a lot of fun, and I hope it’s something we can continue to do in the following years.
For those of you who have ordered additional clothing, I have ordered them and I expect the clothing to be at Simley High School within two weeks. Note that for next week and now that school has begun that we will be meeting in Coach Sedler’s classroom on all non-competition dates by 2:45pm dressed and ready for practice, unless noted. Also note that practice will now officially be from 3:00-5:00pm, instead of 3:00-4:30pm, as stated before. For parents if you are looking to pick up your children after practice you can now pick them up in front of door G near the High School, rather than by the middle school main doors. Also know that I have decided to move Saturday’s practices to Como Lake Pavilion rather than Salem Hills Park, and practice will be from 8:00-10:00am. These practices are not optional, they are mandatory, however as before please communicate to me as to being absent. The dates and locations of these practices will be posted on the website.
During week 3 Timothy Wilmot, Jakob Myers, Nicholas Molstad, Noah Myers and Andrew Sivertson ran 18 miles, the most for the boys, and Anna Royce ran 18 miles, the most for the girls. Our overall boy’s leader is Timothy Wilmot with 66, and our overall girl’s leader is Claire Anderson with 63. Also note that out of 22 runners on our roster to date that Tyler Thomas is the only runner to have not missed a single practice! Remember that next Thursday we have a race at Fridley High School. Check the website for details. I hope to see you all there. Finally congratulations to everyone and thank you to all the parents for all of your support! Run Fast!! Go Spartans!!!

Donations to the Simley Cross Country Booster Club
The Simley Cross Country Booster Club does not do any fundraising. The booster club pays for uniforms, awards for the end-of-season banquet, and medals at the Simley Invitational. Since the team does not do any fundraising, we are asking each parent for a donation. A suggested donation is $20 (or any amount you see fit).
Donations can be given to Karen Myers, booster club treasurer, either in person or by mail to 9253 Cheney Trail, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076. Please make checks out to "Simley CC Booster Club".
