Simley Cross Country Information
Hello to all! I see you are interested in joining the Cross Country team at Simley High School. That is awesome! My name is Desmond Radunz, and I am the Head Boys and Girls Cross Country Coach. I have a lot of exciting things planned for this upcoming season, such as weekly races, including our very own Simley invite, a youth program, a homecoming run, team picnics, etc.
A couple of things to note. Officially the season begins on Monday, August 17th with practice time TBD. Any student entering 7th-12th grade and attending Simley High School or Inver Grove Heights Middle School is welcome to join. Before the season begins make sure you have signed up and have all necessary forms into the activities office, such as physical, waivers, fees, etc. before coming to practice. You can contact the activities office with further questions at 651-306-7001.
In order to be ready for the season it is highly recommended that you do some running. Your Captains are Timothy Wilmot and Ebeneezer Ojo for the boys team and Alexa Vandermeer, Alex Wurzer, and Mallorie Corey for the girls team. They will be leading summer captain's practice. I encourage you to contact them as they will be in charge of letting you know the dates, times, and locations of these practices. You are also welcome to contact me in regards to summer training or any other questions you may have. I look forward to seeing you all next season. And if you do decide to join, bring a friend (The more the better!).
Enjoy your summer.

Greetings to all:
Well, the cross country season has come to an end. Congratulations to everyone who survived the last 11 weeks. Make no mistake, this season was a great success, and I am so proud of this team. One last time I want to thank everyone involved in our program, for not only last week, but for the entire season, but I especially want to thank my assistant Coach Sedler for stepping in last Thursday, and leading the team at Sections, as I was unable to attend the meet due to family obligations. Wrapping up the season our boy's mile leader for the season is Timothy Wilmot with 214 miles ran. Our girl's mile leader was Emma Raab with 196 miles ran. Congratulations to you two! I also want to congratulate Ebeneezer Ojo and Harris Anderson for reaching 200 miles this season!
Last week at the Section 3AA race our fastest boy was Ryan Berg with a time of 19:04 in the 5k race. Our girl's fastest runner was Emma Raab with a time of 17:19 in the 4k race. Great job you two!
A couple of things to note:The end of the year banquet is Tuesday, November 11 at 6:00pm in the high school cafeteria. If there are any questions pertaining to this please contact me, but the information is listed on our website. Also, to any runners who have not yet turned your uniforms please do so by the banquet.
Thank you for a great season and I look forward to seeing everyone at the banquet. Simley Pride!
